How do I install my dog fence in water (like a lake or pond)?

Lately, a lot of readers have wondered whether it's possible to include a pond or part of a lake in their dog fence configuration. The short answer to that question is, "Yes!" Here's what you need to know...

Use high quality wire. I know I harp on wire quality a lot, but it's even MORE important when it comes to a water installation. Cheap wire will deteriorate and break very easily in water -- instead, you should use solid-core copper wire that is 18-gauge or thicker.

Consider running the wire through PVC or a garden hose. Either will weight your wire down so that it doesn't float around on the surface. Also, the casing will protect the wire from potential breaks.
